Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are set to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary, but new details have emerged about the drama that surrounded their lavish 2022 wedding in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple tied the knot at the Peltz family's 13-acre oceanfront estate, Montsorrel, with a star-studded guest list and no expense spared.
However, behind the scenes, there was significant upheaval. Just six weeks before the wedding, celebrity planner Preston Bailey stepped down, citing being 'overcommitted'. Plan Design Events' Nicole Brahin and Arianna Grijalba were brought in to replace him, only to describe the situation as a 'crime scene'. They inherited an incomplete guest list, a chaotic RSVP system, and outstanding vendor bookings.
Among the many demands was an unusual request from Brooklyn himself. According to reports, the aspiring chef asked whether they should consider getting 'a gun that shoots a net because there's probably gonna be drones'. He also requested personalised burgers from the Wendy's food truck, including a 'Brooklyn burger' and a 'Nicola burger' with lettuce instead of a bun.
Despite their efforts, Brahin and Grijalba were sacked just nine days before the wedding. In December 2022, Nicola's father, billionaire Nelson Peltz, filed a lawsuit seeking the return of his $159,000 deposit, alleging the planners made 'material misrepresentations' about their experience. The planners countersued in February 2023, claiming breach of contract and describing the Peltz family as challenging to work with, including demands that Victoria Beckham be kept in the dark about planning mistakes.
The legal saga concluded in September 2023 with a joint statement confirming a settlement, including a donation in the couple's name. The pair, who married in front of family and friends, have since distanced themselves from the drama, with reports suggesting Brooklyn is no longer in contact with his parents.
