NRL Probes Warriors Star Over Nightclub Incident

The National Rugby League (NRL) is investigating Warriors forward Josh Curran over an alleged incident at a nightclub in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, which reportedly left a 16-year-old boy with facial injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 2 October.

The Warriors released a statement on Tuesday confirming the matter had been reported to the NRL Integrity Unit. CEO Cameron George stated the club was aware of the alleged incident and would await further information from the NRL investigation.

New South Wales Police confirmed they were investigating the assault, which took place at a nightclub on William Street, Port Macquarie, around 3am. The teenage boy sustained facial injuries, and police are interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage.

The probe comes amid another controversy involving North Queensland Cowboys star Luciano Leilua, who was charged on Monday with domestic violence offences. Leilua, who was due to represent Samoa at the Rugby League World Cup, has indicated he will plead not guilty.
