Woman Held as 'House Slave' for 25 Years in Gloucestershire Home, Perpetrator Found Guilty

A shocking case of long-term captivity has emerged from Gloucestershire, where a woman was held as a 'house slave' for more than 25 years in deplorable conditions. The victim, now in her mid-40s, was just 16 years old when she moved into the home of Amanda Wixon in 1995, remaining there until 2021.

Filthy 'Prison Cell' Conditions Exposed

Bodycam footage revealed the appalling state of the room where the woman was forced to live, described as a 'prison cell'. The space was squalid and filthy, with the victim enduring regular beatings and receiving minimal food over the decades. This exposure highlighted the severe abuse and neglect she suffered in what should have been a safe environment.

Legal Proceedings and Verdict

Amanda Wixon, 56, faced multiple charges, including false imprisonment, requiring a person to perform forced or compulsory labour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. During the trial, she denied all allegations. The jury acquitted Wixon of one assault charge but found her guilty of the others, marking a significant step towards justice for the victim.

Wixon is currently on conditional bail, awaiting sentencing scheduled for 12 March. This case underscores the critical importance of vigilance and legal action in combating domestic abuse and exploitation.
