Woman Rescued from Suitcase on Galway Bus Shouts 'Thank God'
Woman found trapped in suitcase on Ireland bus

A police investigation is underway after a woman was found trapped inside a suitcase in the luggage compartment of a public bus in Ireland.

Shocking Discovery on a Galway Bus

The alarming incident occurred on a Citylink bus service, with footage later emerging on social media. The video appears to show a suitcase lying on its side in the luggage hold. Disturbingly, the sounds of a woman calling out can be heard from within the case.

According to reports from Galway Beo, the person filming the video then approaches the suitcase and unzips it. Inside, they find a bewildered and terrified woman. A man is heard asking her, "Who put you in there?"

'Thank God': A Terrifying Ordeal Ends

The woman eventually managed to clamber out of the confined space. Upon her release, she was heard repeatedly exclaiming, "Thank God, Thank God." She then sat up and put her head in her hands, visibly distressed by the traumatic experience.

Bus Company and Police Respond

In a statement released on Friday evening, a Citylink spokesperson confirmed the company was "aware of the footage involving an unauthorised traveller" on one of their services. The spokesperson added that they had "assisted the Garda with their investigation."

The Garda, Ireland's national police service, is now leading the inquiry into how the woman came to be locked inside the suitcase on the bus.
