The sister of reality TV star Holly Hagan died from multi-organ failure and an MDMA overdose after a night out at Manchester's Warehouse Project, an inquest has heard. Darci Rose Gibson, 19, suffered a cardiac arrest during the event and died two days later at Manchester Royal Infirmary on October 20.
Acting senior coroner Zak Golombeck told Manchester Coroner's Court on Monday that toxicology tests found high levels of MDMA in her body. He gave a provisional cause of death as multi-organ failure and MDMA overdose, pending a full inquest. Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances or third-party involvement.
Holly Hagan, known for appearing on Geordie Shore, spoke to the Daily Mail earlier this month about her sister's final moments. She said Darci had unknowingly added crystal MDMA to her drink at the dimly-lit club. Holly described receiving 130 missed calls at 5am and rushing to the hospital, where doctors informed her of the drug use.
Holly said Darci had previously experimented with drugs at festivals but had never taken crystal MDMA before. She described her sister as 'always so sensible' and believed she was 'naïve' about the quantity of the drug. The inquest was adjourned to a later date, with no date set for a full hearing.
Greater Manchester Police issued a statement following Darci's death, saying: 'On Sunday 19 October 2025 we were called by hospital staff... Sadly, the woman died in hospital Monday evening. Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time. Enquiries are ongoing.'
