Two young children have tragically lost their lives following a house fire in Wolverhampton on Friday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm on Mason Street, where emergency services were called to the scene. The victims, two boys aged one and three, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrest Made
A woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of the two children. She remains in custody as investigations continue. West Midlands Police have confirmed that the woman is known to the children.
Investigation Underway
A joint investigation between West Midlands Police and the West Midlands Fire Service is underway to determine the exact cause of the blaze. Officers are conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage from the area. A cordon remains in place around the property on Mason Street as forensic examinations are carried out.
