A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old near a nightclub in east London. Trei Daley, from Bromley, was attacked near the Colour Factory in Queen’s Yard, Hackney Wick, in the early hours of Saturday.
Scotland Yard confirmed on Tuesday that Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35, of Wick Road in Hackney, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Police were called around 4.30am on Saturday after Mr Daley and another man arrived at an east London hospital with stab injuries. Despite medical efforts, Mr Daley died in hospital. His family has been informed, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later on Saturday. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “Our thoughts remain with Trei’s family. Our specialist officers will support them in any way they can following their terrible loss.”
