A murder investigation is underway in Swindon after Sarah Forrester, a mother in her early 50s, was found dead at her home in Moredon. Police were called to the address at approximately 7pm on Friday following reports of a disorder.
Teenage Girl Arrested and Released on Bail
Wiltshire Police confirmed they have arrested a 13-year-old girl on suspicion of murder. The teenager was taken in for questioning but has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. Authorities have stated they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose from the Major Crime Investigation Team addressed the public, saying: "This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died. We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out." He urged people not to speculate online as it could prejudice the ongoing case.
Heartbreaking Tributes to a 'Devoted' Mother
Sarah Forrester was a beloved employee of the Kelly Foundation, a charity supporting adults in Swindon with mental health issues. The organisation issued a heartfelt statement praising Sarah's character and dedication.
"She was completely committed to the charity and devoted to her two young children," the tribute read. "Sarah was pivotal in the work that we do here at the Kelly Foundation and her loss is a hugely traumatic event, not just for us and her colleagues but more especially for her children and family."
The charity described Sarah as an "incredible person, kind, thoughtful, considerate, caring and funny," adding that she embodied the spirit of their work and would be "truly, truly missed."
Wiltshire Police have assured the local community that there is no wider risk to the public. They maintained an increased police presence in the area on Friday and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak directly with their local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
