Three protesters were forcibly removed from a resources sector breakfast in Perth on Wednesday, where Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was among the high-profile guests. The incident occurred just before Albanese was scheduled to deliver an address at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA event.
Protesters Storm Stage
The event took an unexpected turn when the protesters rushed onto the stage and began shouting. Security footage captured a guard grabbing one protester by his jacket and pushing him toward the exit. Guests watched from their tables as the commotion unfolded, while others chose to ignore the stunt and continued their conversations.
Funding Announcement
Despite the disruption, Albanese proceeded with his speech, announcing $1.1 billion in funding for road infrastructure, a crucial investment for the Westport development. Premier Roger Cook and Woodside boss Liz Westcott were also in attendance.
