A serving police officer has been discovered deceased inside a car parked on the driveway of a residential property in Birmingham, with authorities confirming the death is not being treated as suspicious.

West Midlands Police officers were called to Yardley Wood Road in Birmingham shortly after 2pm on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a concerning incident. Upon arrival, they found the body of Detective Constable Tayyab Malik, aged 35, inside a vehicle parked on the driveway of a home. Despite immediate response efforts, emergency services confirmed that nothing could be done to save him.

Officers swiftly sealed off the property at both the front and rear, establishing a cordon around the scene. A black Volkswagen Polo vehicle on the driveway was covered by a distinctive blue forensic tent as part of the investigation.
