McDonald's Manager Suffers Burns in Vicious Coffee Attack
A McDonald's manager in Michigan became the victim of a shocking assault when an angry customer threw a scalding cup of coffee at her during a confrontation over wait times. The incident, captured on viral video, occurred at the Dixie Highway location and has led to police seeking felonious assault charges.
The Violent Confrontation Caught on Camera
The disturbing altercation began when the 48-year-old customer became enraged about waiting more than an hour for her online order. Police footage shows the woman aggressively confronting the manager and demanding a refund for two sandwiches. The situation quickly escalated as the customer called the employee a "liar" during the heated exchange.
The manager attempted to defuse the situation by explaining: "You've got your coffee. That's all that you were charged for. Your refund will take up to 48 hours." However, as the manager turned away, the customer shouted "F*** you. Catch that hot-a** coffee" before launching the scalding beverage over her back.
Community Helps Identify Suspect Within Minutes
Buena Vista Police Department detective Russ Pahssen confirmed to MLive that the employee suffered minor burns from the attack. The police department shared the video on Tuesday, leading to an overwhelming response from the community.
Detective Pahssen reported receiving approximately 100 tips from residents, with the suspect being identified within just two minutes of posting the footage online. The police department updated their Facebook post to confirm: "Thank you for all the quick responses. We have the suspect identified."
Despite the rapid identification, authorities have been unable to locate the 48-year-old woman. Police have submitted paperwork to the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office requesting that the woman be charged with felonious assault.
