Rail passengers in Manchester are facing significant disruption this afternoon after a passenger was taken ill on a train at Manchester Oxford Road station. Services running through the station are being cancelled, delayed, or revised, with reduced platforms in operation.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on a TransPennine Express train, leading to blocked lines at the station. According to a statement from TransPennine Express, the emergency services were called, and the passenger was attended to. The disruption is expected to last until at least 2pm.

Official Statement

A spokesperson for TransPennine Express said: "Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at Manchester Oxford Road, some lines are blocked. As a result, Manchester Oxford Road station is operating with reduced platforms. Please note that some services will be operating from different platforms than you might expect. Disruption is expected until 14:00."
