FBI Launches Investigation into Teen's Cruise Ship Death
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened an inquiry following the tragic death of an 18-year-old woman aboard a Carnival cruise ship last weekend.
Anna Kepner from Titusville, Florida was found deceased on board the Carnival Horizon vessel on Saturday while it was travelling from Miami to the Caribbean.
Family Pays Tribute to 'Bubbly' Teen with Military Ambitions
Heartbroken relatives have described Anna as a "happy" and "bubbly" young woman who had recently completed entry tests for military service.
"She was the best child you ever could meet," her family told ABC News. "When she walked into a room, she would light it up. If you were sad, she'd make you laugh."
The family emphasised her people skills and positive energy, noting she had chosen a military career path specifically to "help her community".
Carnival Cruise Line Responds to Tragedy
Carnival Cruise Line confirmed the passenger's death in an official statement released on Saturday.
"Our focus is on supporting the family of our guest and cooperating with the FBI," the company stated, adding that all media inquiries should be directed to FBI's Miami public affairs office while the investigation continues.
The Carnival Horizon ship docked at Miami following the incident, though authorities have not yet disclosed the exact circumstances surrounding Anna's death.
