Tragic Outcome Following City Centre Attack
A 34-year-old woman has tragically died after being stabbed in the neck in a violent incident in Birmingham city centre. The attack occurred on Smallbrook Queensway shortly before 9pm on Friday, 7 November.
West Midlands Police confirmed that the victim was rushed to hospital with a serious neck injury but subsequently succumbed to her injuries. The force has stated that an application will be made to amend the charges against the accused to reflect this devastating development.
Suspect Charged and Public Reassurance
Djeison Rafael, a 21-year-old man, was charged with attempted murder and was scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday morning. Following the victim's death, the charges are expected to be upgraded.
