Soldier Jailed for Kicking Homeless Woman in the Head in Salisbury

A British soldier has been jailed for six months after kicking a homeless woman in the head in an unprovoked attack in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Aaron Nomicas, 20, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm at Salisbury Magistrates' Court.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was sheltering in a shop doorway with her dog, Lance, on January 3 when Nomicas struck. Shocking CCTV footage shows him kicking her in the face. Onlookers intervened and held him back when he tried to land further blows after being called a 'coward' by the woman.

The woman suffered facial injuries, which were not considered life-changing. Police tracked Nomicas down by reviewing city centre CCTV footage.

Sergeant Joshua Bliss of Wiltshire Police said: 'This was a highly impactful case – the victim is incredibly vulnerable and had no way of protecting herself. This court result should send a clear message – if you are someone who preys on the most vulnerable, we will swiftly track you down and bring you to justice.'
