Kristen Bell once delivered an unforgettable threat to Russell Brand while on the set of a Hollywood film. He ended up listening to her advice, in order to save prized body parts, and kept things respectful as they worked together.
Kristen Bell's Stern Warning
Actress Kristen, who has just turned 47, starred in the hit 2008 comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall with Brand. The star, who played the title character Sarah Marshall, was the on-screen love interest of rocker Aldous Snow, played by Russell in the box office smash. However, it was revealed that Kristen made sure that strict boundaries were put in place with Russell before a single frame of the film was shot.
Despite the film being filled with raunchy scenes, Kristen made it abundantly clear where they stood once the cameras stopped rolling. Speaking in an interview at the time, Kristen said: "I made it really clear from the beginning that I would sock him in the balls if he tried anything." She told the Daily Mail back in 2010 that her stern warning had the desired effect, as "he didn't try to mess with me or get in my pants."
Brand's Compliance
Reflecting on her experience on set in another interview with the Scottish Daily Record, she said: "He knew I would lop his nuts off." Kristen later revealed that she "loved" working with the Get Him to the Greek actor during the late noughties. Kristen went on to say that he never tried anything with her during her time on the film set.
Brand's Legal Troubles
Brand is now facing trial later this year following allegations of rape and sexual assault were made against him by six women. He has denied all charges dating from 1999 to 2009. The allegations were first made in an explosive exposé by both Channel 4's Dispatches programme, as well as the Sunday Times. He has since insisted the entire allegations were false, adding his sexual experiences with women were always "consensual".
However, in a recent interview, Russell revealed he had slept with a 16-year-old girl whilst he was aged 30. While this is not illegal, as the age of consent in the UK is 16, Russell claimed he would not have gone through with this today. "When I was 30, I was a very different person," he said in an interview with US journalist Megyn Kelly. "I was a lot younger, and I was an immature 30-year-old. Consensual sex with a lot of people, when there is a strong power differential, as there is when you are a famous man who has the ability to attract women that I had at that time, I think involves exploitation. I think it is exploitative."
