A new direct train line connecting Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen will launch on 1 May 2026, offering tickets from approximately £57. The service, a joint project between Czech Railways (ČD), Deutsche Bahn (DB), and Danish State Railways (DSB), is supported by the European Commission to promote cross-border rail travel.
The trains, ČD's ComfortJet model, can reach speeds of 230 km/h (140 mph) and seat 555 passengers, including 99 first-class seats. Onboard amenities include a dining car, cinema area, and adjustable seating. A seasonal night train between Hamburg and Copenhagen will also be extended to use the new route.
The service is expected to operate twice daily, with journey times of approximately seven hours between Berlin and Copenhagen, and 11 hours between Prague and Copenhagen. Stops will include Dresden and Hamburg, following the completion of renovations on the Berlin-Hamburg line.
While 2026 prices are not yet announced, current fares for the Copenhagen-Berlin leg cost around £43, and Berlin-Prague from £13.87, totalling £57.44. The route will allow passengers to travel between the three capitals without changing trains.
Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner said: 'Deutsche Bahn's new direct connection connects three European capitals - Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen. This strengthens Berlin as a hub in Europe.'
