Thieves jailed for stealing bag in London pub

Daring Pub Theft Caught on Camera

In a brazen incident that serves as a stark warning to pub-goers, two men have been jailed for stealing a bag from an unsuspecting customer in a packed London pub. The theft, which was captured in clear detail on the establishment's CCTV system, occurred on 11 November.

The Moment of the Theft

The court heard how Hecham Bourhar, 29, and Mohammed Kraifa, 34, targeted a woman who was enjoying a drink and food. CCTV footage showed the pair lurking near the victim before Kraifa used a cunning method to take her property. He was seen using his foot to skilfully drag the bag, which contained items valued at over £2,000, towards himself. In a swift, coordinated move, Bourhar then picked up the bag, and the two men quickly walked out of the pub, leaving the victim unaware of the crime that had just happened under her nose.

Justice Served for the Criminals

The compelling CCTV evidence was crucial in bringing the perpetrators to justice. At a recent hearing, both Hecham Bourhar and Mohammed Kraifa were each sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for the theft. This case highlights the effectiveness of surveillance in combating crime in busy public venues and acts as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant with their personal belongings at all times.
