Miami Grand Prix Start Time Moved Forward Three Hours Due to Storm Threat
Miami GP Moved Three Hours Earlier Over Storm Threat

The Miami Grand Prix start time has been brought forward by three hours to 13:00 local time (18:00 BST) due to forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms. The decision was made following discussions between Formula One bosses, the FIA, and race promoters to minimise disruption and ensure driver, team, and fan safety.

Rain Hazard Declaration

The FIA had previously issued a rain hazard declaration, with over a 40 per cent chance of rain predicted for the original race time. Contingency plans are in place, including adherence to Florida law which mandates stopping events if lightning is detected within an eight-mile radius.

Driver Challenges

Drivers anticipate challenges if the race is wet, as many have limited experience with the new generation of cars in such conditions. The earlier start time aims to avoid the worst of the expected storms.
