One of Europe's leading budget airlines is significantly expanding its network, announcing a major boost for British holidaymakers. EasyJet is adding 16 new routes for next summer, providing more choice from eight airports across the United Kingdom.
New Destinations and Flight Schedules
The expansion includes a notable third connection from the UK to the island of Sal in Cape Verde, this time from Bristol Airport. This new service will launch on 1st May 2026, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, joining existing flights from London Gatwick and Manchester.
Bristol Airport is a clear winner in this expansion, also gaining new direct links to Bari, Italy, starting 18th April, and to Seville, Spain, from 2nd May. Both of these European routes will fly twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Other key additions include:
- From Birmingham: New services to Inverness (from 30th March) and Nice (from 1st May), both operating twice weekly.
- From Manchester: New flights to Montpellier (from 30th March) and Preveza (from 24th June).
- From Liverpool: Two new routes to Lisbon (from 31st March) and Paphos (from 2nd August).
- From Glasgow: Four new routes providing direct connections to Lisbon, Pisa, Sharm El Sheikh, and Malta.
Further enhancing connectivity, a Southend to Jersey route begins on 30th March, and flights from Stansted to Paris Charles de Gaulle start on 5th March. A new Newcastle to Tenerife route will also commence on 1st August.
More Choice for British Travellers
Celebrating its 30th year of operations, the carrier continues to be a dominant force in European aviation, flying more than 100 million passengers annually. This expansion solidifies its commitment to the UK market.
EasyJet holidays is also offering package deals on all these new routes, bundling return flights and accommodation for a seamless holiday booking experience. This move provides significant competition in the affordable travel market.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet's UK country manager, commented on the expansion: "In our 30th year, we're still as committed as ever to making travel easy and affordable for our customers in the UK... With 16 new routes across ten countries now available from eight UK airports next summer - offering stunning island escapes to vibrant city breaks - we're providing our customers with even more choice and connectivity at fantastic fares."
This expansion comes as the trend for 'Extreme Day Trips' is predicted to grow in popularity. With low-cost carriers offering return flights for as little as £30-£50, it's becoming increasingly feasible for Brits to experience a European city or beach destination in a single day, all without the cost of a hotel.
