Jeremy Clarkson's Cotswolds pub The Farmer's Dog has issued a major announcement ahead of the England vs. Argentina World Cup semi-final tonight (July 15). With England facing one last game before potentially making it to the final, tensions are high, and fans were keen to flock to the venue for the screening of the match. But it's bad news for some, as the pub warned it would "not be open" to anyone who rocked up without a ticket.
Strictly Ticket-Only Event
The official Instagram account for the pub said: "Important update about tonight's World Cup semi-final screening. We've become aware of a few posts suggesting tonight's screening is open to anyone who fancies turning up. It isn't." The post continued: "The event is strictly ticket only and is now completely sold out. There will be no tickets available on the gate, and security will be checking tickets on arrival to ensure we remain within our licensed capacity."
"If you're one of the lucky ones with a ticket, we'll see you later. Bring your voice, wear something white and prepare to offer tactical advice that absolutely nobody on the pitch will hear. Come on England," the pub added.
Warning Against Impersonators
The pub also warned against social media accounts impersonating the business, linking the real accounts with the caveat: "And finally, if you want to know what's actually happening at The Farmer's Dog, the below are our only official social media accounts."
Fans rushed to comment on the post, with one moaning: "Have a great night… gutted to be missing it." Another begged: "If anyone has two tickets spare, I'm in Burford and have been trying EVERYTHING to get them. For some reason we weren't sent the email letting people know. And we're Hawkstonians too!"
