Call Nicki is fancied to make a winning handicap debut in the British Stallions Studs EBF Nursery Handicap (1.40) at Hamilton Park on Thursday. The daughter of Soldier's Call has shown consistent form, finishing in the frame at Thirsk on her first two outings and claiming podium placings at Carlisle on her next two starts.
Three weeks ago, Call Nicki enjoyed a maiden victory over this course and distance, beating six rivals. Sent off at 5-2 under Andrew Mullen, she led after halfway and won by two and a quarter lengths from Bellatina. Now ridden by David Allan, she enters handicaps with a BHA mark of 73, which could prove lenient for a filly with more to offer.
Punchbowl Flyer Seeks Hat-Trick at Chepstow
At Chepstow, Punchbowl Flyer and apprentice Alexandra Egan, who claims a valuable 5lb, are expected to combine effectively in the Trade Centre Wales Apprentice Handicap (2.40). The John O'Shea-trained nine-year-old has won his last two starts at Ffos Las and Chepstow last month with Egan aboard. He steps back from six to five furlongs but should have the speed to cope.
