Aber Bay Holiday Park near Aberystwyth has reopened its pop-up camping field for the whole of August, giving visitors the chance to pitch a tent just metres from the beach for £30 per tent per night. The family-friendly park, situated on Clarach Bay, offers direct beach access alongside full use of its facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool, entertainment, games room, outdoor play area, restaurant, bar, shop, and launderette. The camping field also has its own shower, toilet, and washing-up facilities.
Second opening of the season
This is the second time the park has opened its temporary camping field this year, following a successful introduction earlier in the season. The return comes after strong demand from holidaymakers seeking an affordable seaside escape during the school holidays, combining traditional camping with the amenities of a full holiday park.
Facilities and nearby attractions
Guests can step straight from their tent onto the beach and enjoy the park's recently opened rooftop terrace overlooking the coastline, described as a perfect spot for a morning coffee or evening drink as the sun sets over Cardigan Bay. Aber Bay, run by Allens Caravans, also offers caravans, luxury lodges, and boutique-style glamping pods that sleep up to six and feature private hot tubs.
Outside the park, visitors can explore the Vale of Rheidol Railway, Aberystwyth Castle, Dyfi Discoveries for boat trips around Eryri National Park, Glasfryn Activity Parc with quad biking and archery, and Dinefwr Park and Castle. Camping can be booked via Pitchup, while holiday homes, lodges, and glamping pods are available through Hoseasons.
