The Meta Quest 3S (128GB) VR headset has dropped to a record-low price of £249.99 on Amazon, as part of the first day of Prime Day. The deal saves shoppers more than £50 on their purchase, 80 days before Christmas.

Amazon's price undercuts Argos' rival Meta Quest sale, where the same 128GB All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset is available for £287.99. With a further 10% off using the code GAMING10 at checkout, the Argos price comes to £259.19.
The Meta Quest 3S is described as 'free from cords', meaning users can use the device 'without limits'. It features a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, which the site says delivers lightning-fast load times and next-gen graphics for smooth gaming. The device has around two hours of battery life and 33% more memory.
Features and performance
With 8GB of RAM, the site says the headset's enhanced memory delivers a 'next-level experience fuelled by sharper graphics and more responsive performance'. Two RGB colour cameras allow users to see 'real and digital worlds with full-colour'. There is also the option to unlock access to 100+ games, with a three-month trial available when purchasing Meta Quest.
At the Daily Express, the device has previously been rated a 'VR headset priced just right' and called 'pocketchange' compared to Apple's Vision Pro, which is priced from £3,499. Shoppers receive the headset, an additional light seal cushion and cover, a polishing cloth, battery, USB-C power adapter and USB-C charge cable.

As an alternative, Argos has the PlayStation VR2 Headset for £399.99. Designed exclusively for PS5, the site says this next-generation headset uses PlayStation VR2 Sense technology to deliver 'sensations and emotions that go far beyond traditional gaming', with eye tracking, headset feedback and 3D Audio.
The Meta Quest 3S on Amazon has an overall average rating of 4.6 out of five stars from more than 1,700 reviews. One shopper said: "The Meta Quest 3S is an excellent headset. It’s easy to set up, comfortable to wear, and the performance is impressive for the price. Games run smoothly, and the controllers are responsive and intuitive."
Another commented: "Just two issues really... one is that the battery life is just 2.5 hours, but that's standard for many headsets. Second is that it takes time getting used to standing still but walking in a world. It feels really disorientating and even nauseous. So maybe that 2.5-hour battery life is a good thing.
