In a bold move set to redefine transatlantic travel, United Airlines has unveiled a significant expansion of its international network, introducing three exciting new destinations and boosting capacity on key European routes for the Summer 2025 season.
The carrier is set to launch a groundbreaking, non-stop service from its Newark Liberty International Airport hub to Marrakech, Morocco. This will mark the first-ever direct flight by any carrier between the New York metropolitan area and the iconic North African city, famously known as the 'Red City'.
Venturing Further Afield
United's ambitious expansion doesn't stop in Africa. The airline is also breaking new ground in Asia with its first-ever service to Cebu, Philippines. This new route from Newark will provide a vital direct link for travellers and families, bypassing the traditional stop in Manila.
Completing the trio of new destinations is Medellín, Colombia. This new daily flight will cater to the growing demand for travel to one of South America's most vibrant and culturally rich cities, further solidifying United's presence in the Latin American market.
Boosting European Capacity
Recognising the relentless demand for European travel, United is also significantly increasing its flight frequency on several popular routes from Newark. Travellers can look forward to more options for a summer getaway with:
- Naples, Italy: Service increasing to a daily flight.
- Barcelona, Spain: A second daily flight will be added.
- Rome, Italy: Capacity boosted with a third daily flight.
- Lisbon, Portugal: A second daily flight will be introduced.
This strategic expansion underscores United's commitment to offering its passengers unrivalled connectivity and choice, making it easier than ever to reach some of the world's most sought-after destinations directly from the East Coast.
