Jon Hamm, best known for his role as Don Draper in Mad Men, is currently starring in Apple TV+’s hit crime-comedy series Your Friends and Neighbors. The show, which returned for a second season on 3rd April, follows Hamm’s character Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper, a wealthy financier who turns to stealing from his neighbours after being fired.
Born on 10th March 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri, Hamm is now 55 years old. His parents divorced when he was two, and his mother died of colon cancer when he was ten. After his father’s death when Hamm was 20, he dropped out of the University of Texas and later graduated from the University of Missouri in 1993. He briefly taught eighth-grade drama at his former high school, where one of his students was Ellie Kemper, later known for The Office and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Hamm’s longest relationship was with actress and screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt, lasting from 1997 to 2015. They co-starred in her directorial debut Friends with Kids. In June 2023, he married actress Anna Osceola, who appeared in the Mad Men series finale and has a role in Your Friends and Neighbors. The couple lives in a $3.4 million (£2.5m) home in Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
Hamm’s net worth is estimated at around $45 million (£34m). He has spoken about developing vitiligo, a skin condition causing loss of pigmentation, while filming the first season of Mad Men, attributing it to stress. “It did not exist before the show,” he told Rolling Stone.
