The world-renowned Tomorrowland festival is set to make its full-scale Asian debut in Thailand next year, marking a major expansion for the iconic electronic dance music brand. Organisers have confirmed the event will take place in Pattaya from 11 to 13 December 2026.
A New Home in Wisdom Valley
The festival will be held at a sprawling 237-acre site in Pattaya’s Wisdom Valley, located in Chonburi province. In a key difference from the flagship Belgian event, Tomorrowland Thailand will not feature on-site camping. Instead, accommodation will be offered through dedicated hotel packages.
Ticket sales will commence with a pre-registration phase starting on 8 January 2026. General sales will follow, with hotel packages available from 28 February and standard tickets going on sale from 8 March. A three-day ‘Full Madness Pass’ is priced at 12,500 Thai baht (approximately £296), with single-day tickets costing 5,100 baht (around £120).
Economic Impact and Cultural Vision
The Thai government has finalised a five-year agreement to host the festival, projecting a substantial economic return of 21 billion baht (£497.9 million) over the period. Authorities anticipate around 50,000 attendees per day, with over 60 per cent expected to be foreign tourists.
In a statement, the Tourism Authority of Thailand said the event would help position the country as a leader in global tourism and creative experiences. The selection of Thailand was attributed to its growing influence in music, innovation, and experience-driven tourism.
The move follows a meeting in June 2025 between then-Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Tomorrowland International CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers. Shinawatra emphasised a desire for Thailand to be the "heart of the event," integrating Thai culture and ensuring local communities benefit maximally.
Tomorrowland's Global Footprint
Founded in 2005 by brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland began as a one-day event in Boom, Belgium. It has since grown into a global phenomenon with international editions in Brazil and a winter festival in the French Alps. Its expansion into Asia follows smaller-scale satellite events, such as UNITE shows in Mumbai and Shanghai, which streamed the Belgian festival to local venues.
The announcement comes after the Belgian edition faced disruption in 2025 when a fire engulfed the main stage days before opening. Organisers confirmed no one was injured and the festival proceeded as planned.
Further details regarding the theme, stage design, and artist line-up for Tomorrowland Thailand are promised in the coming months.
