Jodie Kidd's Pub Shuts After Staff Abuse, Not Hygiene Rating

The Half Moon, a pub in Kirdford, West Sussex, owned by model and TV star Jodie Kidd, has temporarily closed after staff faced verbal and physical abuse. The closure, lasting three days, was announced on the pub's Instagram page, which cited a need for the team to rest and recharge following recent incidents.

An Instagram post stated: 'We've worked hard to create more than just a pub — we've built a home. ... it saddens us that in recent weeks we as a Team have faced abuse — both verbal and physical.' The pub will reopen on Thursday 25th September at noon.

Kidd, 46, bought the Grade II listed 15th-century pub in 2017 when it was threatened with closure. She has since been actively involved in its operation. The pub was recently named one of the seven best celebrity-owned pubs in Britain by food critic Tom Parker-Bowles.
