Shearer Foundation gets £140,000 QTS Data Centers donation

Alan Shearer’s charity foundation has been handed a £140,000 donation from QTS Data Centers, just days after his daughter Chloe married rugby ace Micky Young. The company is building a campus near the Alan Shearer Centre in Cambois.

Donation to Support Families in the North East

The Alan Shearer Foundation, which helps children and adults with complex disabilities and sensory impairments, received the sum from QTS Data Centers. “Everything we do here is provided free of charge,” Shearer said. “This level of support gives us the confidence to plan ahead and reach more families. We’re very grateful for QTS’ support and the difference it will make to families across the North East.”

Family Celebrations Continue

The news follows a summer of celebrations for the Shearer family. Chloe, 34, tied the knot in north Yorkshire after Micky Young, the former Newcastle Falcons scrum half, proposed at a charity bash to support the foundation last November. Less than a week after the wedding, Shearer, the England and Newcastle legend, received the latest boost for his foundation.

Shearer’s other daughter, Hollie, 31, also married a rugby player. Hollie wed Red Rose star Joe Marchant in August. The ceremony took place in Winchester, Hampshire, after Shearer returned from pundit duties in the USA. Marchant, 30, a Sale Sharks player, was a key player for the England rugby team led by Steve Borthwick at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
