Flight attendant reveals best and worst plane seats for a comfortable flight
Flight attendant's best and worst plane seats revealed

Choosing the right airplane seat can significantly impact your travel experience, and one flight attendant has shared her top recommendations for economy class, as well as the seats she avoids for a more comfortable journey.

Flight attendant reveals seat preferences

Air hostess Sandra Jennie Kwon, known as @jeenie.weenie on TikTok, has spent years working onboard aircraft and developed a strategy for selecting the best seats. In a recent video, she explained her reasoning, starting with seats to eliminate immediately. "The first elimination should be a no-brainer - the middle seats suck," she said. She also noted that the back row of every section does not recline, and emergency exit rows have flimsy tray tables and limited storage for personal belongings.

Why the back of the plane can be better

Kwon revealed that she prefers sitting towards the back because airlines typically fill seats from the front first for weight distribution. This increases the likelihood of having an empty seat next to you. "For those odds, I prefer the back," she stated. However, she cautioned against seats near toilets, recommending a five-row buffer to avoid odors.

She also ruled out window seats, explaining, "I hate asking people to move so I can use the toilet. So I eliminate all the window seats." Despite this, she acknowledged that sitting closer to the front offers an advantage: meals are served from front to back, giving passengers a higher chance of getting their first meal choice.

Ideal economy seats revealed

After weighing the pros and cons, Kwon identified her ideal economy seats as 49 C, D, F, or G. Her advice sparked debate online, with one commenter joking, "No! Now everyone will rush to these seats and they'll become more expensive than business class." Another wrote, "I was listening right up until you scrapped the window seat." A third added, "The amount of people that'll be fighting for seats 49 C/D/F/G after watching this... omg."
