Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray and his wife, Kim, have announced a significant closure and transformation of their luxury Scottish hotel, Cromlix House, which they purchased over twelve years ago for £1.8 million.
Major Renovation and Expansion Plans
The prestigious hotel is set to undergo extensive renovation work, leading to its temporary closure for the first half of this year. The comprehensive project is scheduled for completion, with a planned reopening date set for 15 May 2026.
New Dining and Hospitality Features
A key highlight of the renovation involves the introduction of two brand-new restaurants to elevate the culinary experience for guests. One will be a spacious, glass-fronted restaurant capable of seating up to sixty covers, offering panoramic views and a modern dining atmosphere.
The second addition will be an intimate fine dining establishment, designed to provide an exclusive and sophisticated gastronomic experience. Meanwhile, the existing Glasshouse restaurant will be repurposed into a dedicated venue for afternoon tea and special events, broadening its functional use.
Enhanced Accommodation and Wellness Facilities
To further enrich guest offerings, the plans include the construction of three new luxury suites, expanding the hotel's accommodation capacity and providing additional opulent options for visitors.
In a move towards holistic hospitality, a dedicated wellness cottage will be added, focusing on relaxation and health amenities, catering to the growing demand for wellness-focused travel experiences.
Improved Accessibility and Infrastructure
Practical improvements are also part of the renovation, with the main entrance set to be widened to accommodate larger vehicles. This will be achieved by relocating existing gate pillars, enhancing visitor access and convenience for all guests arriving at the property.
This ambitious renovation underscores Andy Murray's commitment to maintaining and enhancing Cromlix House as a premier destination in the Scottish hospitality sector, promising an upgraded experience upon its reopening in May 2026.
