Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is well-known for her dedication to health and fitness, particularly yoga and pilates. However, her former personal trainer Jorge Blanco has disclosed that she also enjoyed martial arts, kickboxing, and boxing while filming the US legal drama Suits.
Blanco, who lives in Toronto and is originally from Zaragoza, Spain, trained Meghan during her time on the show. He told the Spanish edition of Vanity Fair that he enjoyed training the Duchess because she was "sympathetic." The pair often conversed in Spanish, as Meghan could speak his native tongue with an Argentine accent, likely from her time working at the American embassy in Argentina in her early 20s.
Blanco, known as "Spaniard" to his clients, expressed a desire to train Meghan and her husband Prince Harry again in the future, especially after their move to the US. He said: "I don't know if now that they are around here I could train her again because my schedules are quite complicated. But come on, if she calls me, I wouldn't mind training them both."
Another former trainer, Craig McNamee, previously revealed that Meghan typically trained for 45 minutes three to four times a week. Her sessions began with a cardio warm-up, followed by stretching and a circuit focusing on posture due to her on-screen role. McNamee concentrated on her glutes, back, and hamstrings, along with core exercises for her abs, back, obliques, and pelvic floor. Meghan also did additional cardio and yoga sessions.
McNamee praised her attitude, saying: "When she gets to the gym, there’s no real complaining. She gets down to business right away and really enjoys it." The pair trained together for nearly three years until Meghan moved to the UK to marry Prince Harry.
