Louis Walsh has ruled out returning to reality TV shows including The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! after admitting his health is "not good enough" following a suspected heart attack on Celebrity Big Brother.
The former X Factor judge, 74, appeared on the ITV talent show from 2004 to 2014, before returning for a further three years from 2016 to 2019. More recently, he was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother alongside fellow former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, where he suffered a suspected heart attack that required urgent medical attention.
Health rules out jungle appearance
Speaking to Heat Magazine, Walsh said his condition would prevent him from taking part in certain shows. He said: "I wouldn't do the jungle. My health isn't good enough."
He also reflected on his Celebrity Big Brother experience, saying: "No. I thought it was going to be fun, but it wasn't. I had anxiety problems and I had to get the medics. My doctor thinks I had a minor heart attack in there. I did it for the money, but I shouldn't have."
No X Factor comeback
Asked whether he would consider returning to The X Factor amid speculation the show might be rebooted, Walsh said: "I won't be doing it as I am probably too old. The money is good, they pay well. I don't think Simon will ask me."
Walsh, who previously managed Boyzone and Westlife, has been open about his health since the incident and what it means for his future on television.
