Multiple London Underground lines face partial closures and reduced service this weekend, affecting the Piccadilly and District lines, along with several London Overground routes including the Weaver and Windrush lines. The Elizabeth line is also partially closed on Sunday, complicating travel towards west London and Heathrow Airport.
Saturday, October 17 closures
The District line will be closed between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway all day on Saturday and Sunday. Transport for London (TfL) has urged travellers to use the replacement bus service operating between Turnham Green and Rayners Lane.
From 1am on Saturday, the Piccadilly line will be shut between Hammersmith and Uxbridge, as well as all Heathrow Airport terminals. Travellers have been urged to use the Metropolitan line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, and the Elizabeth line between central London and Heathrow Airport. The closure will affect night Tube services on Friday and Saturday night. A replacement bus service is in operation, and there are inter-terminal connections within Heathrow.
The Lioness London Overground line will operate a reduced service on Saturday between Kilburn High Road and London Euston. Between 6.30am and 8.30pm, trains departing Watford Junction at 30 minutes past each hour will terminate at Kilburn High Road. Between 7.15am and 9.15pm, trains departing Euston at 15 minutes past each hour will start from Kilburn High Road.
