Man United Learn Summerville Stance as Fernandes Talks Continue

Manchester United have learned that West Ham are in no hurry to sell Crysencio Summerville despite their relegation to the Championship, as the Red Devils continue to pursue the winger alongside Mateus Fernandes.

Summerville's World Cup Form Attracts Interest

The Dutchman has impressed at the World Cup, scoring in a 2-2 draw with Japan. His performances have drawn interest from Tottenham, PSG, and now Manchester United, with Michael Carrick's side the latest to register an interest.

Summerville's reputation has soared since January when Tottenham also considered a move for the former Leeds United winger.

West Ham's Stance on Summerville and Fernandes

West Ham insiders insist they are not rushing to sell and will wait until after the World Cup to negotiate. However, they acknowledge retaining Summerville will be challenging, and the same applies to Fernandes.

Both players have wage reduction clauses following relegation, and both are expected to leave. New majority shareholder Daniel Kretinsky has stated the club has no obligation to sell, but a fee of around £45 million would bring West Ham to the table for Summerville, while Fernandes is valued at approximately £80 million.

Other Clubs in the Race

Real Madrid and Arsenal have shown interest in Fernandes, but Arsenal have stepped back, leaving United as frontrunners if Real Madrid do not enter the race. Tottenham are also seeking a winger for Roberto De Zerbi and are in informal talks with Manchester City for Savinho. Liverpool previously monitored Summerville in 2024 but may not join the competition.

United have other alternatives, including Iliman Ndiaye and Morgan Rogers, according to reports.
