A foot model in Florida has accused a man of running her over with his SUV after she refused to let him smell her feet during a hotel meeting arranged through a dating app.
Elmoncy Sercle, 28, was arrested on August 28 after the alleged incident at the Aventura hotel on August 24. The woman, who sells used trainers, told police that Sercle asked to smell her feet and buy her sneakers shortly after entering the hotel room.
“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” the woman told Local 10. She said she offered to sell him her trainers for $1,000 (£744), but when she left him to use the bathroom, he fled the room. She chased him into the car park, where he allegedly drove past her in a red SUV before turning and running her over, causing road rash and bruising.
Sercle fled the scene but was arrested when he tried to book a room at the same hotel days later. Police say he may be linked to other similar incidents. He has been charged with aggravated battery and has pleaded not guilty.
