Independent analysis from consumer champion Which? confirmed Aldi as the UK's cheapest supermarket for July 2026, based on a basket of 93 popular grocery items. The win extends a nine-month run dating back to November 2025, with a 100% winning streak so far in 2026.
According to Which?, a basket of 93 items at Aldi cost £158.05—saving shoppers up to £30.40 compared to Tesco, £29.81 compared to Sainsbury's (even with loyalty discounts applied), and £68.90 compared to Waitrose.
