Starbucks has brought back its popular Apple Crisp flavour days earlier than originally planned, following an outcry from fans who were disappointed it was missing from the initial autumn menu announcement in August.
The coffee chain had initially scheduled the return of the apple brown sugar syrup for 14 October, but a spokesperson confirmed to The Independent that after customers expressed such excitement, the release date was moved forward to Thursday, 9 October.
The Apple Crisp range includes the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, made with blonde espresso, apple, cinnamon and brown sugar, topped with oatmilk. Customers can also add apple brown sugar syrup to any drink, or choose from two new cold foams: Apple Crisp Cream Cold Foam and Apple Crisp Protein Cold Foam, the latter containing over 15 grams of protein in a medium size.
Starbucks beverage developer Billy Altieri said in a press release: “The warm, gooey taste of apple crisp melds with the light roast flavours of Starbucks Blonde Espresso and creamy oatmilk to create a chilled yet cosy cup of coffee that evokes the comfort of autumn.”
The early return comes just days after Starbucks announced its winter menu, which will launch on 6 November. Holiday offerings include Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, Iced Gingerbread Chai, Chestnut Praline Latte and Eggnog Latte. Festive baked goods such as the Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish will also be available.
