Paperchase, the colourful stationery brand that closed all 106 UK stores in 2023, is now available inside Tesco, where its new Chibi Club back-to-school range is attracting younger shoppers.
New Chibi Club characters
The Chibi Club features a 'playful crew of quirky characters' including capybara Noko Noko, curious cat Mochi, Zoomi the crocodile, Poko Pup and Flumple the llama, who sports her own iridescent wings and a unicorn horn. Products themed around each character include backpacks, notebooks, pencil cases, and stationery.
Tesco says it's the individual traits of each character, including the laid back brainiac capybara - 'the perfect blend of brains and laid-back charm' - that makes them 'relatable, lovable and collectable'. Prices start from £4 for the character pens, up to £20 for the backpacks.
Expansion and other ranges
The Paperchase brand is continuing to expand into more Tesco stores as it evolves and further new Chibi Club products are planned for 2027. As well as Chibi Club there are other themed products including Tropic Like It's Hot range featuring a journal, magnetic closure notebook, bag and cheetah vase.
Tesco also sells a wide range of its own brand stationery, as well as big brands like Sharpie, BiC and Staedtler, and themes such as Harry Potter - many of which are now half price with Clubcard.
Brand's new generation
When Tesco first announced the arrival of Paperchase, it said its ambition was to make it 'quick and easy for customers to pick up stationery items for work and school, or grab a last-minute greeting card, as part of the weekly shop'.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "Paperchase has been part of life's big and small moments for generations of shoppers. Since becoming exclusively available at Tesco in 2023, we've worked hard to nurture the creativity, personality, and distinctive identity that customers know and love. It's exciting to see that same appeal resonating with a whole new generation of shoppers, proving that Paperchase remains as relevant and inspiring today as ever."
