Lidl's £25 Candle Looks Like £125 John Lewis Version

Lidl shoppers will soon be able to buy a 2kg candle that resembles a high-end version retailing at £125. The supermarket's more affordable homeware piece goes on sale in a few days.

The Jasmine, Wild Orchid and Soft Musk XL Confetti Murano Candle will hit shelves on Thursday, October 15. Tipping the scales at 2kg, the £24.99 candle comes presented in a large patterned glass jar with an estimated burn time of 129 hours — roughly the equivalent of 5.4 full days.

Similar Design to a £125 John Lewis Candle

Online, the candle jar's design appears similar to that of the Baobab Black Pearls Jar Scented Candle available at John Lewis. The upmarket alternative, retailing at £125 for a 1kg version, features a strikingly similar speckled exterior.

While the two candles differ in fragrance, the glass jars they come in are remarkably alike. The Baobab version combines notes of ginger and black rose, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Describing the luxury option on its website, John Lewis said: "In a transparent hand-blown glass with black details, the Black Pearls scented candle is as precious as the black pearls from which it draws its name. It is a magnificent decorative object with an iconic perfume."

Other Fragrances and Smaller Sizes

Those who aren't keen on the floral scent of Lidl's first option might prefer the Tonka, Vanilla Bean and Amber Sugar variety (also £24.99). It features a very similar pattern but swaps the monochrome design for a warm honey yellow glass.

There are smaller versions of both candles on offer for £3.99. Shoppers eager to snap up the Lidl version should make a beeline for stores on launch day. Special Buys typically sell out rapidly and are often not replaced once stock runs out.

What Else Is New in Lidl?

During the same week, customers will discover a fresh batch of special offers in the Middle of Lidl. The new arrivals on Thursday feature a pet event, kitchen equipment, plants and outdoor hiking gear.

Ahead of all the new launches, Lidl refreshes its selection on Sunday, October 11. One standout deal includes a budget-friendly gadget that creates "perfect" smoothies, soups and much more. It looks and functions like a more expensive Ninja product, yet costs a fraction of the price.

Lidl's Silvercrest Premium Jug Blender will appear in the supermarket's forthcoming kitchen sale, arriving in stores from Sunday, October 11. The appliance will cost shoppers £59.99 - or just £49.99 if they scan the Lidl Plus app at checkout.
