IHOP Menu Overhaul Focuses on Value Meals and New Coffee Blend
IHOP Revamps Menu with Value Focus and Coffee Blend

IHOP has announced a comprehensive menu overhaul, placing a significant emphasis on value meals and introducing its first proprietary coffee blend in two decades. This strategic move comes as restaurants across the United States respond to rising costs for consumers by offering more affordable dining options.

Value Menu Expansion and Rebranded Offerings

Among the key changes, IHOP has rebranded its omelette section to "Stuffed 'N Stacked," featuring new options like a pulled-pork omelette that President Lawrence Kim stated fans had been requesting. The company has also expanded its value menu, which now includes items such as a BLT served with French fries or hashbrowns, all priced at approximately $6 at participating locations nationwide. This value menu is available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Coffee Innovations and Sustainability Focus

As part of the menu revamp, IHOP unveiled the IHOP Coffee Blend, its first proprietary coffee blend in 20 years. This blend consists of 100 percent sustainably sourced, medium-roast Arabica beans from Brazil. Additionally, the iced coffee lineup has been updated to include flavor options like vanilla, chocolate, and Dulce de Leche, catering to diverse consumer preferences.

Strategic Business Insights and Consumer Trends

According to Kim, the value menu is not merely about providing cheaper alternatives but is integrated into a broader strategy to encourage guests to explore new items and potentially increase their spending. Speaking at the UBS Global Consumer and Retail Conference in March, he explained that the value platform complements the chain's "check-driving initiatives" from its innovation menu.

During an earnings call, as reported by Restaurant Dive, a spokesperson noted, "At IHOP, value is designed to drive traffic, not replace full margin items, and that's exactly what we're seeing. The value menu is drawing guests into the restaurant. And once they're here, guests are also choosing premium offerings such as our breakfast combos and limited-time offers, like our Pumpkin Spice and Coffee Cake pancakes."

Positive Financial Impact and Future Plans

These menu updates have yielded positive results for IHOP. In the second half of 2025, the chain observed an increase in guest spending and frequency of visits. Average checks rose by 150 basis points, and for the first time in years, restaurant visits grew in the third quarter, a trend that persisted into the fourth quarter. Overall, these factors contributed to a slight 0.3 percent increase in sales at existing locations.

Looking ahead, Kim hinted at more new menu items later this year and teased the potential comeback of a popular favorite, indicating ongoing innovation to meet consumer demands.
