Discount retailer Home Bargains has issued a fresh reminder to shoppers across the United Kingdom regarding its planned festive period closures, confirming a three-day shutdown for all its stores.
Festive Closure Dates Confirmed
The national chain, which operates more than 600 stores, has reiterated that all its branches will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. This annual arrangement guarantees employees an extended break during the holidays. The decision, which was initially announced to customers via social media back in September, is now being highlighted again as the festive week approaches.
A spokesperson for the family-run business stated on Instagram: "All of our stores will be closing for Boxing Day and New Year's Day. We would like to thank all our colleagues for how hard you have worked this past year, and want you to relax and enjoy the Christmas break with your loved ones."
Early Finish on Christmas Eve
In addition to the three full-day closures, shoppers are advised that Home Bargains will also be closing early on Christmas Eve, around 5pm. This is earlier than many other retailers who often see a last-minute rush. The company encourages customers to check the specific opening and closing times for their local store using the online store finder tool, as hours can vary, especially during the festive season.
The spokesperson emphasised the company's ethos, saying: "Our colleagues work incredibly hard throughout the year, and we want to recognise that commitment. As a family-run business, we understand the importance of spending time with family and friends, particularly over the holidays. We’re proud to give our teams additional time off to enjoy the festive season."
Normal Service Resumes
Stores are expected to operate as normal between December 27 and 31. Full service will then resume on Friday, January 2, 2026. The retailer has framed the closures as a "well-deserved break" for staff after the hectic Christmas build-up.
