A major search has been launched for a British holidaymaker who vanished after a FaceTime call with his family on Christmas Day. Mark Counsell, 31, from Pontypool, South Wales, was last seen on a video call on December 25 and is believed to be in Thailand or the Kuala Lumpur area of Malaysia.
Gwent Police have issued an appeal for information to locate Counsell, who has been travelling around Southeast Asia. He is described as a white male, 5ft 9in tall, with an average build. He was last seen wearing a khaki-coloured Fred Perry t-shirt.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101 or send a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2600001644. The force added: “Mark is also urged to get in touch with us.”
