Boots has revealed that its number one top-selling feminine fragrance for 2025 is an iconic noughties scent, currently priced at less than £25. The Versace Woman Eau de Parfum, launched in 2000, has taken the top spot, reflecting a rise in Y2K trends on social media.
Created by perfumer Christine Nagel, known for hits like Narciso Rodriguez for Her and Miss Dior Chérie, the fragrance is described as a 'floral-fruity woody' scent. It features top notes of frangipani blossoms, jasmine and bergamot, with a raspberry heart and woody base notes of amber and musk. Usually £66 for a 50ml bottle, Boots currently offers it for £24.
Other noughties fragrances remain popular, including Britney Spears' Fantasy (2005) at £17, and Ghost Deep Night (2001) at £35 from Superdrug. Customers have praised the Versace scent for its elegance and value, with one calling it 'perfect for a daytime scent' and another noting it 'lasts for hours'. However, some reviewers mention it requires topping up as the smell wears off quickly.
