B&M's £30 Table Set Rivals £90 Argos Version for Style

B&M has introduced a new 'modern' set of two tables priced at £35, which shoppers say closely resembles a single table sold by Argos for £90. The discount retailer's Home Collection Set of Two Tables features a panelled design with a clean, natural finish, described as suitable for side or lamp tables.

The smaller table stands 31cm tall with a 34cm surface, while the larger is 38cm tall with a 40cm surface. B&M claims the set 'effortlessly elevates any living space and complements most interiors'. In contrast, Argos sells a single Habitat Luan Slatted Side Table for £90, made from solid wood and measuring 50cm in both height and surface.

While the Argos version is larger and made from solid wood, the B&M set is made from MDF and costs £55 less for two tables. Both retailers highlight a Nordic-inspired aesthetic, but B&M's offering is positioned as a budget-friendly alternative for those looking to update their living room without breaking the bank.

This is not the first time discount stores have offered similar items at lower prices. Home Bargains recently sold an £8 blackout curtain resembling a Dunelm version costing £17 more, and an £18 glass lamp at B&M was noted as a near match to a £99 Oliver Bonas design.
