Bath & Body Works has officially announced the return of its hugely popular Candle Day sale, marking the 14th year of the annual event. The fragrance retailer, famed for its soaps, sanitisers and scented products, is offering its extensive range of three-wick candles at a dramatically reduced price for a limited time, helping customers stock up for the winter season.

Candle Day 2025: Key Dates and How to Shop

The sale follows a specific schedule, with an online launch kicking off the event. The Candle Day sale begins online on Thursday, 4 December 2025 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time (which is 3 a.m. GMT on Friday, 5 December). For those preferring an in-store experience, the sale then moves to physical shops, running from Friday, 5 December through to Sunday, 7 December. Stores will open their doors early for the occasion, welcoming shoppers from 6 a.m. local time.

During the sale, all of the brand's three-wick candles will be priced at just $9.95. This represents a significant saving, as the candles normally retail for between $26.95 and $29.95 each. Shoppers should note that there is typically a purchase limit of 24 candles per transaction. Due to the event's popularity, many sought-after scents often sell out by the second day of the three-day promotion.

New Scents, Returning Favourites and Exclusive Keepsakes

This year's sale features an impressive selection of over 180 different candle fragrances. Alongside beloved seasonal classics such as Vanilla Bean Noel, Twisted Peppermint, and Winter Candy Apple, Bath & Body Works is introducing several new scents for 2025. These include Butterscotch Swirl, Christmas Road Trip, and Rum Rum Reindeer.

In a particularly novel move, the company is launching a limited-edition pickle-scented candle named 'Holiday Dill-light'. Furthermore, several discontinued fragrances are being brought back from the vault exclusively for Candle Day. These returning scents comprise Smoked Vanilla, Brown Sugar & Fig, Snowday, Blueberry Sugar, and Vanilla Snowflake.

Adding to the collectible nature of the event, Bath & Body Works is also releasing an exclusive Candle Day keepsake candle with special packaging. Betsy Schumacher, the company's Chief Merchandising Officer, stated: "Candle Day is a cherished tradition that our customers countdown to every year. It’s the ultimate Bath & Body Works shopping event—a moment when we deliver what we do best."

Linking Candle Day to a Wider Holiday Campaign

The Candle Day sale coincides with a broader festive marketing campaign from Bath & Body Works. The brand has taken over New York City's Grand Central Terminal, diffusing the scents of Fresh Balsam, Snowflakes & Cashmere and Twisted Peppermint throughout the iconic transport hub.

This multi-sensory campaign extends to 46 high-traffic shopping centres across the United States, as well as Chicago's Clark and Lake train station. Select cinemas in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago are also participating, with the scent of Fresh Balsam being released during the brand's holiday advertisement—a tactic the company calls "scent-igrations."

Jamie Sohosky, Chief Marketing Officer at Bath & Body Works, explained the strategy: "We’re bringing the holiday season to life for consumers in new and unexpected ways. By diffusing our signature Fresh Balsam scent into iconic places... we’re creating moments of joy and festive spirit that reach consumers wherever they are."
