Australian supermarkets Aldi, Coles, and Woolworths are competing fiercely in the week before Christmas, offering deep discounts on festive essentials and last-minute gifts. From cherries and iPhones to hams and batteries, shoppers can find significant savings across all three chains from December 15 to 21.

According to consumer network One Big Switch, the major supermarkets are slashing prices on Christmas staples. Josh Gibson from the network highlighted discounts on blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, nectarines, mince pies, brandy custard, pavlova, reindeer carrots, Coca-Cola, and batteries. Aldi leads on blueberries at $2.99, mangoes at $1.79, and mince pies at six for $4.99. Coles offers the cheapest Energiser batteries at $9.75 for 14 AAA, raspberries at $4, and pavlova at $5.40. Woolworths has the best deals on reindeer carrots at $1/kg, cherries at $13.90/kg, and Coca-Cola at $1.57.

Special items include Aldi's 700g Brioche Christmas Tree for $9.99, Roald Dahl books for $8, and a Spiderman or Frozen electric mini bike for $69.99. Coles sells refurbished Apple iPad 5 128GB for $409 and iPhone XR 64GB for $529, along with a Nutribullet blender for $79 and Christmas hampers ranging from $55 to $110. Woolworths offers 20% off bon bons, half-price BBQ heat beads, and half-price Bonds socks.

Shoppers can also save on delivery. Coles and Woolworths provide free delivery for first-time online orders, orders over $250 (Coles) or $300 (Woolworths), or orders over $50 with a paid subscription service, which includes a free trial period.
