The National Lottery is urging players in and around Cheshire to check their tickets, as a £1 million prize from the draw on Saturday, July 4, remains unclaimed. The winning ticket was purchased from a retailer in Cheshire East, and the operator Allwyn is asking anyone who bought a ticket in the area around that date to search their pockets, purses, and drawers for the winning numbers.
Details of the Winning Ticket
The mystery ticket-holder won the million-pound prize through the Guaranteed Millionaire Raffle, with the winning code AQUA 0049 1681. The draw created 14 millionaires in total, ten of which came from the raffle. The missing ticket holder is among this group, and their prize has not yet been claimed.
Official Statement from Allwyn
Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at Allwyn, said: "This is an incredible win for one lucky Lotto player and we want nothing more than to reunite them with their life-changing win. Someone out there is a millionaire, and they have no idea that they are sitting on this life-changing sum of money – just imagine what you’d do with that amount in your bank account. We are urging Lotto players to check their tickets to see if they are our missing millionaire."
Carter added: "Were you in East Cheshire in the run-up to the Lotto draw on 4 July? Our mystery winner may not even live locally and could have picked up their ticket while enjoying the warm weather in the area. We’d love to see this prize reach its rightful owner, so please check your tickets, ask friends and family to do the same, and have one last look in those pockets and drawers. You never know, it could be you."
Claim Deadline and Process
The ticket holder has until December 31, 2026, to claim the prize. Anyone who believes they are the winner but no longer has the ticket can submit a claim in writing to Allwyn, but this must be done within 30 days of the draw.
Changes to Lotto Format
Since the Lotto draw introduced its new two-round format, players have double the chance of winning big with every £2 Lotto line. While the price and number of balls remain the same, the change is expected to create hundreds more millionaires each year. Players' chances of winning any prize have improved from 1 in 9.3 to 1 in 4.9.
