A dehumidifier recommended by Martin Lewis is set to hit Aldi shelves this weekend as part of the supermarket's latest SpecialBuy range. The Midi Dehumidifier, priced at £89.99, will be available from Sunday, January 11, as part of Aldi's 'winter warmer' collection.
The Money Saving Expert founder has previously described dehumidifiers as a 'savvy swap' for tumble dryers, which he calls 'energy-guzzling demon appliances'. He noted that running a dehumidifier can cost as little as 7p per hour, compared to around £1 per use for a tumble dryer.
Aldi claims the dehumidifier can remove up to 12 litres of water per day and features a two-litre tank, adjustable humidity settings, a 24-hour timer, and a quiet operating mode. It also comes with wheels, a touch-screen display, and a drainage hose for continuous use.
With the UK experiencing cold weather and snow, condensation and mould are common household issues. Dehumidifiers help lower moisture levels, prevent mould growth, and can reduce energy bills when drying clothes indoors.
Martin Lewis has not endorsed any specific brand, but his advice remains relevant as Ofgem's energy price cap stands at 27.69p per kWh from January to March 2026. The Aldi dehumidifier offers an affordable option for those looking to save on energy costs while tackling dampness.
