Rosenior did not mince words in his post-match interview with Sky Sports, describing the display as 'unacceptable' and 'indefensible.' He criticised his players for a lack of attitude, intensity, and professionalism. 'That was unacceptable in every aspect of the game. Unacceptable in attitude,' he said. 'I keep coming out and defending the players... that was indefensible, that performance tonight.'
The head coach highlighted the manner of goals conceded, the number of duels lost, and the absence of fight and spirit. 'Something has to change drastically right here, right now,' he added. 'If you're playing for this club, to even be accused of throwing the towel in is unacceptable.'
Chalobah's Defence
In stark contrast, centre-back Trevoh Chalobah insisted the team gave their all. 'We gave our all. Just not the better side,' he told Sky Sports. 'We tried our best. We worked on it throughout the week and obviously we got beat today. We've just got to go again and we can't dwell on these moments.'
Chalobah rejected the notion that effort was lacking, saying, 'I think personally the boys were running their socks off. You can see in the changing room everyone's tired. It's nothing to do with effort. We gave our all. We just got beat today.'
